My mother, Leola Hammond, married Robert Hammond in 1918 in Georgia. They relocated to Cleveland and in 1923 she joined EMZBC. The pastor was Reverend B.K. Smith. She was active as a faithful Sunday school teacher and Daily Vacation Bible school worker and leader of Group# 4. Mother had 8 children, 6 of which became members ofEMZBC. She brought all of us to Sunday school, Wednesday night prayer meeting, BYPU and Sunday night communion services. When some of mother’s sisters came to Cleveland from the south with their families, some joined EMZBC. Cora Mae Watts mother of Deacon Willie Watts, wife Della and sister Anita Draper.
